Actually it isnt ice. its a natural formation of xenon gas invisible to the eye because of how fast it moves and can only be captured with the skill and expertise of a extremely well trained photographer and an equally powerful camera, preferably an old style camera that uses flash powder. the white area around the gas is condensation from the rapid release of the gas. ive seen this phenomena captured only twice before, this is very rare.

Calamitus, you're an idiot for making that up.  
 
First off, there is snow sitting on top of it, showing that it's motionless. If it was gas, there will be no snow at worst or snow in motion at best.  
 
Second, there are more pictures of that same place but with people standing by it, touching it. If it was gas, they wouldn't be able to physically touch it, let alone pose next to it.
