@zero an AC welder will power one, its all in the coils & capacitors. Its
like pushing a swing, a little push at the right time increases the power of the
swing. The voltage is stepped by the coils the same way.

Just for the sake of telling, you should all know that these aren't
single-bursts of electricity. All these shots are done over a long exposure
time, probably around an hour or so.

I saw someone doing the same thing trying
to recreate the Tesla-Coils from C&C:Red Alert.

any idea what the amperage is? I Work on oil burners that have 10000 volt
transformers to ignite the oil, but its only miliamps(.002 amps)
